A Little More About Santie du Plessis

Santie du Plessis is an accomplished teacher with more than two decades of experience. She has been part of the Doc Scientia team since the get-go. Her devotion to the field of Physics and Chemistry led her to be main author on more than 10 different Textbook and Workbooks. These publications have been used by hundreds of schools all over South Africa.


Her name has become synonymous with excellence in the field of Physical Sciences. For many years she held the positions of marker and senior marker at the Grade 12 end-of-year exams in Gauteng. Even there her unmatched insight and skills stood out. She was quickly promoted to head of marking in Gauteng – a position she held for 8 years.

1. How does the Masterclass work?

There are 6 sessions spread over a course of 2 weeks. Each session is 2 hours long.  


Each session has its own workbook. This workbook will be sent via email once you have signed up and paid.


You’ll receive a link via email 30 minutes before each session starts. This will allow you to attend each session.


During the interactive session, you will work through the workbook with Santie du Plessis. She will show you how to approach each topic. You also get the chance to ask questions to gain even more insight.


You’ll receive a recording of the session the day after the session via email.

2. Who is this Masterclass for?

This Masterclass is for any Grade 12 learner that takes Physical Sciences and that wants to get an A in the subject.

There are sessions in Afrikaans and English.


3. Will I be able to share my link with others?

Each link will only allow access to one device. Therefore, you will not be able to share it with others.

4. Can anyone sign up for the Masterclass?

The Masterclass is designed for academically inclined scholars who are aiming for distinctions in Physical Sciences.


However, we don’t discriminate against anyone. Anybody is welcome. But the emphasis will only be on the tough questions. No basics will be covered.

5. How do I pay?

You can pay online through Payfast with your Visa or Mastercard.

We’ll hold your seat once your payment has been received.

6. What happens after I pay?

You’ll receive a proof of payment.

8. How will I attend each session I sign up for?

All sessions will be held via Zoom.

You will receive an email with your invitation to the Zoom session 30 minutes before it starts.

Make sure to check your spam folder just in case our emails end up there.

9. What if my Wi-Fi cuts out, or if there is load shedding?

Should that happen, you will still receive the recording afterwards to make sure you didn’t miss out on anything.

10. How will I get a hold of my workbooks?

All your workbooks will be sent to you via email. They are in PDF format. You can print these workbooks.

11. Do I have to sign up for all 6 sessions of the Masterclass?

We do recommend signing up for all 6 sessions to get the best value for money.

However, you can sign up for only some of the sessions. It will cost R400 per session.

12. What if there is one or more of the sessions that I can’t attend? Will I still be able to sign up for the full Masterclass?

Absolutely!

Sometimes timetables clash. But that should not keep you from signing up for the full Masterclass.

We will still send you all the recordings and workbooks, even if you are not able to attend some of the classes.

13. What if I forget about my session?

We will send you reminders of each of your sessions the day before, as well as the morning of your session.

The reminders will be sent via email and SMS.

14. Am I allowed to ask questions during the sessions?

Yes!

We want you to get the most out of each session.

That’s why we encourage you to ask questions.

Santie loves it when students interact with her and ask questions.

15. Will there be breaks during the session?

Unfortunately, there won’t be any breaks during the session.

We want you to get your money worth in each session, and therefore would like to use the 2 hours optimally.

16. How many learners are allowed per session?

A maximum of 30 learners are allowed per session.

A minimum of 5 learners have to sign up per session for the session to go ahead. Should a session be cancelled, you will receive a full refund.
